Recap of the 36th Annual Brown Family Reunion Aug 15-17, 2014

This 2014 year we honor Jean Viola (Harmening) Albrecht.
Daughter of Dorothy. Granddaughter of Clara.

Jeanne was born to Dorothy Brown and Lester Harmening on July 23, 1940.

On June 8, 1958 Jeanne married Jim Albrecht. They reside in New Ulm MN.

Here is what we know about our special guest of honor.

My name is Jeanne Albrecht.  I am 74 years old.  My spouse's name is Jim.  We have 5 children, Laurie, Sandy, Mike, Willie and Susie  and 12 grandchildren.  I enjoy spending time playing computer games, reading and bingo.  My favorite memory growing up is playing in the grove on the farm.  My hobbies include reading and knitting.  The most interesting place I visited was the Florida road trip with Mom, Janice and Laurie.  I like being a member of this family because they are all "nuts".  I can't wait until everyone gets as old as me.  The most unusual thing that has happened to me was when I had 2 months of not remembering anything.  This year I intend to have another cancer free year.  I am happiest when I don't do anything, which is most of the time.  The one thing I still want to accomplish is growing old with reasonably good health.  My proudest moments are my wedding and birth of our 5 children.  I regret not being able to do many activities.  I want to be remembered as a GREAT mother and grandmother like my Mom.

      Brown Family Aug 15-17, 2014

The reunion weekend took place at Sibley State Park.
The Brown Family reserved a group center
complete with a kitchen, bunk houses and a campfire!!

Lots of fun was had by all.  Some played volleyball.

Most of the time the volleyball was out of bounds.

     Time to take a break.

So many played bingo pebbles were needed for extra markers.

No family reunion is complete without Family History Trivia.

Some took the trivia very seriously.

Looks like you all had a good time visiting,
playing games, eating and enjoying the park.

Johnny Harmening (son of Dorothy)

Judy and Roger Ketchmark (son of Evelyn)

Julieann Froemke (daughter of Richard Lundquist) and Susan

Keeping with tradition.....the afternoon nap.

Until we gather again.

All of the family pictures taken during this reunion
can be viewed on the Shutterfly.com website.
A Clara Brown Photo Album has been created.

For future reunion ideas, please post your comments to this blog
or write me an email at clarabrownfamilyreunion@gmail.com.

Until then......
My love to all,
Clara Josephine
